The Nightblooming Cereus is a tropical plant found in Hawaii. It produces a large and complex bulb that emerges from the edges of its leaves. The beautiful flower blooms around sunset and only lasts the night. While studying art at the University of Hawaii, the artist was introduced to this plant which grows in the cracks of several of the rocky retaining walls around campus. She found a meditative inspiration in the plant’s work to grow such a stunning flower which is only enjoyed for one evening.
